Hi,
Remaining minutes can be accessed contacting customer service at any time at 800-733-6632. On the handset itself, the "Phone Info" menu option provides the amount of minutes that an individual has used.

Hi Pete,
The Jitterbug Plus does have Bluetooth capability. The cell phone uses a Headset profile for the Bluetooth (just audio is transferred in this profile).

Hi Chaz,
In most cases, GreatCall is able to port in a phone number from your current carrier. Port-in requests may occur immediately or may take 1 to 3 business days (5 to 7 business days if porting a landline). Port In requests require the following information:
• Service number to be ported in 10 digit number only
• Carrier from which the number is being ported
• Account number from original carrier
• Password/PIN number (if required by carrier and/or if set by yourself)
• Last 4 digits of the account holder’s Social Security Number
• Account holder’s name (billing name w/ current carrier)
• Account holder’s billing address on the account with the prior carrier
NOTE: Please verify the following information prior to the request:
• Account is still active.
• Account is not under contract.
• There are no pending orders; i.e. cancellation orders.
Please note your mobile number may or may not be portable depending on the carrier. Once you provide us with the number you would like to port in we will validate it in our system to confirm it is portable. For immediate assistance, you can call our Customer Service team 24 hours a day/7 days a week by dialing 1-800-733-6632.

Hi Caddo Red,
If you have followed the steps below and were unsuccessful in adding a new number, please call us directly, any time at 1-800-733-6632.

To add a new contact, follow the steps below:
1. Starting from the Main Screen, use the “Up/Down” button and scroll to the “Phone Book” until it appears highlighted in gray in the middle of the Inside Display.
2. Press the "Yes" button to view your “Phone Book.”
3. Using the “Up/Down” button, scroll to “EDIT Phone Book” and press the "Yes" button.
4. Using the “Up/Down” button, scroll to “Add” until it appears highlighted in gray in the middle of the Inside Display.
5. Press the "Yes" button to select the item “Add.”
6. Using the keypad, enter the name of the contact you would like to create. If you accidentally press a wrong button, just press the "No" button to back up and delete
the incorrect entry.
7. Press the "Yes" button when you are done.
8. Using the keypad, enter the phone number for the new contact. If you make a mistake while typing, use the "No" button to backspace.
9. Press the "Yes" button when you are done.
10. “Successfully Added” will appear, letting you know the new contact has been added.
11. Press the " No" button two times to return to the Main Screen.

Hello Winston1,

The Jitterbug J uses a Headset profile for the Bluetooth (just audio is transferred in this profile). Many vehicles will want to use a Hands-free profile (there is audio and data such as phone book, caller ID and text messages transferred). You may try to contact your dealership to see if there is way to connect in a Headset profile.

Hello Ginnymouse,

The Jittebug J does have a speed dial function. The speed dial works directly off of the Phone Book entries. No additional programming is needed. For example:
Phone book entry #1 = Speed dial #1
Phone book entry #5 = Speed dial #5
To place a call, the customer can simply press the speed dial number, followed by “YES”.

Are calls to VerizonWireless customers free (no minutes used)?

Since Jitterbug works on the Verizon network, are calls made to other Verizon network cell phones free? (i.e. will my mother be charged from her bucket of anytime minutes when she calls my VerizonWireless phone)?

Hello Joanne,

While Greatcall does use the Verizon network; Greatcall is not a part of Verizon wireless so calls made to a Verizon phone from a Greatcall phone does use plan minutes. Greatcall does offer shared plans that have unlimited calls between phones on the shared plan.

Hello,

The Jitterbug J does not have a tracking device in it. You can use the 5Star service with the Jitterbug J which sends a location to the Emergency Response call center when you dial 5Star or 911.

At this time there is no way to enlarge the view. The text is in a large font to make it easier to see. The buttons are also large with large numbers.

Hello Gerry,

At this time there is not a way to directly transfer information from one cell phone to the Jitterbug phone, unless you are replacing your Jitterbug phone with another Jitterbug phone and keeping the same phone number. You can however, call Operator Services with any contacts you want in your phone and they will be able to send those contacts to your phone for you. You can also enter contacts onto your phone from MyGreatcall.com
